I am a graphic designer, photographer and print maker based in Brentwood, Essex although I grew up in Yorkshire near the Pennines.

The landscape around Holmfirth is one of several threads running through my work. At the moment, I have been print making at the East London Printmakers studios where I’ve been trying to reflect the the graphic quality of the stone walls on the hills and the bleak nature of the land in winter.

In my photography projects, I often focus on the urban landscape at night because I like the way darkness filters out irrelevant details so that places become merely abstract things. I am interested in the disconnectedness we experience in these highly illuminated places which is at odds with the expansion of communications technologies.
